FAQ

Firstly, and most importantly, what's your MBTI type?
I am a proud INFJ. Did we expect me to be anything other than an introvert?

How old are you?
I was born in 1992. I'll let you do the math so I don't have to update this page every year. My birthday is on June 13th, so every now and again, it falls on a Friday the 13th.

What is your favourite book?
You can’t ask me to choose a favourite, how rude of you.

Give me a list of potential favourites, then?
Okay, if you insist. Some of my favourites include:

  • All For The Game by Nora Sakavic
  • I Was Born For This by Alice Oseman
  • Captive Prince by C. S. Pacat
  • Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
  • One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston
  • Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
  • Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
  • The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater
  • Maurice by E. M. Forster
  • The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

How long have you been blogging?

My blog was started in January 2011, so I’ve been typing away here for over a decade. It’s my longest and most stable relationship. And the most fulfilling.

Will you review my book?
I am always open to requests from authors and publishers, but please read my Review Policy first to see if your book is what I’m looking for at the moment!

Who designed your blog?
The template is from Design Bliss Feast but I tweaked the code and designed everything else myself. The style of the blog has changed several times of the years, and there have been more than a fair share of graphic disasters, but hey, I’m learning.

Why do you change your design so much?
I’M HIGHLY UNDECISIVE. LEAVE ME BE.

Do you review independently published books?
When I first started blogging, the only review requests I ever received were from self-published authors. Since then, I’ve read and adored so many independently published stories that are just as wonderful as traditionally published works. Although I have to limit the amount of requests I accept (because there’s just too little time), if I like the sound of a story, I will read it no matter what the publishing method.

Do you make YouTube videos for your blog?
I do! I'd wanted to make videos for a long time before I started, but good old Anxiety™ always held me back. After a pretty awful panic attack a few years ago, I became determined to try and tackle at least one of the things that my anxiety kept me from achieving, and finally filmed a booktube video. It was terrible and I had to pause every two minutes because I wanted to cry, but I got there in the end. I've been making my videos since 2015 now and I'm super proud of how far I've come! You can check out my channel here.

Your reviews aren’t always very formal, why?
I am by no means a professional book reviewer, so why act like one? I’m not paid to share my opinions on the books I read, so I like to do things my own way. My blog is fun for me. If I felt like I had to be formal, I wouldn't be as excited to write posts. Also, let’s not hide the fact that my grammar is terrible, and I make way too many mistakes to pretend to be a high-quality reviewer.

Do you take your own blog pictures?
I studied photography at university and it’s something that I love to do, so I always try to take my own pictures to be used on my blog. Unless stated otherwise, it's usually my own image.

Can I share your reviews or quote you?
As long as you give credit, sure.

What else do you like other than books?
I have more hobbies than I have time for. I love art, gaming, writing stories, taking pictures, watching anime, and I'm a fan of far too many KPOP groups.

Are you an actual Queen?
Obviously.
